Banned Book Club

Banned Book Club In-Person

Please join other book loving community members for the monthly meeting of the Banned Book Club. We read and discuss books that have been banned and challenged. To learn more about what classifies a book as banned or challenged, check out information from the American Library Association: https://www.ala.org/advocacy/bbooks.

No need to sign up! Copies of each read will be available at the Service desk. Books are on a first come, first serve basis although we make every effort to select books that are readily available in the South Central Library System. Ebooks and audiobooks are also available from Wisconsin's Digital Library / the Libby app

This month we'll be reading the dystopian classic Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Summary from LINKcat: "In a society in which books are outlawed, Montag, a regimented fireman in charge of burning the forbidden volumes, meets a revolutionary school teacher who dares to read. Suddenly he finds himself a hunted fugitive, forced to choose not only between two women, but between personal safety and intellectual freedom."

Everyone is welcome!
